I am a Christian, a husband, a U.S. Navy veteran, a financial-services professional and the founder of Beyond the Credit Score. My work is built around one simple belief: people make better financial decisions when someone takes the time to explain their options honestly and clearly.
My background
My years in the United States Navy taught me the importance of discipline, accountability and looking out for the people beside you. Those principles continue to guide the way I serve others today.
Through my financial-services company, The Benson Agency Group, I have worked with individuals, families, veterans and business owners in life and health insurance, mortgage protection, preneed planning, retirement-income strategies and financial education. I help people understand how the financial decisions they make today can affect their families, businesses and long-term security.
Throughout my career, I have also seen how a lack of financial literacy prevents many people from reaching their goals. I believe that understanding credit is one of the most important foundations of financial literacy. Your credit can affect your ability to purchase a home, finance a vehicle, grow a business and prepare for the future.
That is why I partnered with Michael Ramos of Credit Rescue to create a platform that puts education first. Beyond the Credit Score was created to help people understand their credit, know their rights and make informed financial decisions without judgment, confusion or empty promises.
